Light and refreshing – a powdery, musky, floral scent with violet, orange blossom and refreshing green hints of Jasmin and lily.

Cotton Grass thrives in the harshest of mountain environments. In early summer the distinctive white flowers resemble tufts of cotton and can grow densely enough to disguise bogs and wetlands - a good indicator of hazardous areas to be avoided by the weary whilst travelling through the high mountain passes of the Cairngorms.

The fluffy white fronds were once used as a feather substitute in pillow stuffing and it has been used in the production of both candle wicks and paper. Across the Scottish Highlands Cotton Grass was used as a traditional herbal medicine to treat wounds, relieve sickness and soothe fevers. Its fresh scent noted for its remarkable ability to clear the senses and uplift the soul.
